Pakistan is experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis with more than a third of the country under flood water, affecting 33 million people (15% of the population), says the UN. “The Pakistani people are facing a monsoon on steroids; the relentless impact of epochal levels of rain and flooding,” said António Guterres, UN Secretary-General, in a video message on Aug 30.
