Left Brain/Right Brain
My Personal Thoughts
Being a voracious reader, I decided to create one place under my control, to keep track of stuff that interests me. No ads or algorithms. Posts will include primarily those of medical, philosophical and political interest. Please join me on this journey and take the time to read and comment on my posts.
NB: I’m just starting out with WordPress and clearly have a lot to learn.
David Deutsch is a British physicist at the University of Oxford, often described as the “father of quantum computing” who has written two amazing seminal books, The Fabric of Reality, which expands on his views of quantum mechanics and its implications for understanding reality, and the Beginning of Infinity, where Deutsch discusses the Enlightenment of the 18th century as near the beginning of an infinite sequence of purposeful knowledge creation, defined as information with good explanatory function resistant to falsification.
Iain McGilchrist is a British psychiatrist, philosopher and neuroscientist who wrote the 2021 book, The Matter with Things. This 2000 page tome is enlightening, especially in it’s explanation how the left and right brain comprehend the world and associated worldwide and political implications. Check out my link in the header to review excerpts and start discussion of amazing neurophysiologic, psychologic and philosophical concepts.
